Combating Racism: Vancouver Seminar Highlights Community Action

Skyrise Media Society and the Canadian Iranian Foundation recently hosted a seminar at the West Vancouver Community Centre aimed at empowering the Persian community to confront and address racism effectively.

He defined racism as "discrimination and prejudice against people based on their race or ethnicity," emphasizing its presence in societal and political systems.

Soheila Ansari, a member of the North Vancouver school district, presented educational videos from official government sources. She underscored the importance of education in promoting equity, stating, "Racism also affects people's general wellbeing when they are denied equal access to jobs, services, and education."
