The seminar, titled "Systematic Racism and Multiculturalism: Part 3," was a collaborative effort between the Skyrise Media Society and the Canadian Iranian Foundation. This event was open to a diverse audience eager to engage with the critical issues of racism.

Sherry, the host, kicked off the session by introducing the program. She emphasized, "Racism and multiculturalism are topics we must address." Sherry eloquently delved into the diversity and multiculturalism in British Columbia. She stated, "We live in a multicultural society," highlighting the rich tapestry of cultures in the region.

Dr. Reza Mohaghegh provided a comprehensive understanding of racism, quoting, "Racism is everywhere. It can be the color of your skin and your race, among other factors." He also highlighted racism in Iran, saying, "The Iranian government discriminates against people of different religions." Dr. Mohaghegh emphasized that Canada, while not devoid of racism, is comparatively better.

Sargent Armran Sardari echoed this sentiment, stating, "Canada is a better place." He explained the police's role in addressing racism, mentioning, "In police, there is no criminal code for racism, but we deal with it." Sardari also introduced a valuable resource, saying, "We have put together a package to help people deal with racism and racist acts."

Dr. Ali Totian, a high school teacher, shared his personal experiences with racism and discussed the resources provided by the Ministry of Education, saying, "The Ministry of Education has provided a package for teachers, authorities, parents, and students."

The audience actively participated, with some sharing their experiences. An audience member questioned the role of the Ministry of Education in combating racism, particularly in a democracy like Canada. Dr. Totian explained that while the Ministry had introduced measures in 2018, the pandemic had delayed their implementation. He emphasized that now it's in the hands of schools, teachers, and parents, asserting that government action is underway, but community education on anti-racism is equally vital. Sargent Sardari encouraged active involvement, advocating for suggestions, and questions, volunteering, and engagement with children's education. Dr. Mohaghegh reinforced that waiting for government reforms is insufficient. He stressed the need for community-driven change, stating that a racism-free world won't happen overnight, and collective action is essential.

The audience continued to participate with questions and personal stories, contributing to a robust discussion. After multiple questions and responses, the seminar concluded, leaving attendees with a heightened sense of the need for collective efforts against racism.

Nassreen Filsoof, a board director of the Canadian Iranian Foundation, shared her journey from experiencing racism as a nurse to establishing a senior care center with a diverse staff. She emphasized the progress Canada has made.

In conclusion, Sherry urged everyone to work together to create a more inclusive and harmonious society, quoting the famous Iranian poet Saadi, "Human beings are members of a whole, in the creation of one essence and soul." The seminar, with its distinguished speakers and engaged audience, underscored the collective responsibility in the fight against racism and the promotion of unity.
