The SharpSk8s Pro Shop marked its official inauguration with a warm welcome to owners Marc Pilon and Linda Pilon, alongside the introduction of their innovative donation initiative. SharpSk8s aims to collect residents' used skates for refurbishment and lending to those eager to hit the arena. This endeavor primarily targets both skating enthusiasts and individuals facing financial constraints in acquiring their own pair.

Expressing his pride in serving the community, Marc Pilon, an experienced skate sharpener, highlighted the lack of such services in numerous arenas. "There are many arenas that don't have a service like ours. I'm proud to be able to serve the community. And with the five associations here, plus the Junior and Junior Academy, that makes three. I've been sharpening their skates since September 2021. And then the CH... It's my second year. So business is good."

Linda Pilon echoed the community's enthusiastic response to their service announcement, stating, "And the community has already responded to our requests. We already have about ten pairs of skates, and today is the launch. And we hope... Public skating starts in October... So we want to be ready for the expected launch of public skating in October."

Alain Hupè, the manager of recreational facilities in Clarence-Rockland, extended a heartfelt welcome to Linda and Marc on behalf of the municipality, emphasizing the honour it was to have them at the Clarence-Rockland arena. "A big thank you, Marc and Linda, on behalf of the municipality. It's a great honour for me to welcome you to the Clarence-Rockland arena. It's also a great pleasure for me to welcome you to the municipality as new business owners. On behalf of Mayor Mario Zanth and the council, it's a pleasure to welcome you and wish you much success. We are opening your new business today."

The ceremony concluded with the symbolic cutting of the inaugural ribbon, an act performed with a freshly sharpened skate, signaling the official commencement of this exciting venture.
