MP Bonita Zarrillo came into the studio and we discussed what the residents of Port Moody/Coquitlam are concerned with. MP Bonita Zarrillo, she discussed her transition from municipal to federal politics, emphasizing her commitment to addressing local issues on a national platform.

She highlighted her roles as the NDP critic for Disability Inclusion, Health (Deputy), and Infrastructure and Communities, focusing on advocating for disability rights, accessible healthcare, and sustainable infrastructure development. Zarrillo also expressed concerns about housing affordability in the Tri-Cities area, emphasizing the need for federal support to ensure residents can remain in their communities.
Additionally, she highlighted the importance of seniors' well-being, particularly through Pharmacare and dental care programs, advocating for expanded healthcare coverage to ensure seniors receive the support they need. She underscored the importance of community engagement and encouraged constituents to actively participate in dialogues to shape effective policies.
Bonita Zarrillo was first elected as the Member of Parliament for Port Moody – Coquitlam in 2021. She is currently the NDP Critic for Infrastructure and Communities; Disability Inclusion; Seniors and the Deputy Health Critic. Zarrillo is an active member of the Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities.
