Afshin Sabouki, a professional artist and animator from North Vancouver, joins our interview with an intriguing idea to support immigrant children.

Afshin has nearly forty years of experience in graphic design, caricature, and animation. Living in a city with the highest population of Persian speakers, he witnesses children daily who are becoming disconnected from their native culture and language—including his own six-year-old child, who needs engaging ways to preserve their mother tongue and heritage. To address this, Afshin and his colleagues are working on creating captivating animations for children. He has even completed one episode of this animation but requires public support to continue the project.

Afshin Sabouki is also an artist who has supported Iran’s freedom movement, producing several short works in solidarity. He humbly states that his efforts are minimal compared to the courage and selflessness of the youth in Iran.

Drawing on his professional skills, Afshin contributes to addressing major human issues. He has also created animations focused on environmental challenges and water scarcity.

Afshin notes that from his home in North Vancouver, he reaches everywhere through animation, using his artistic abilities to improve the lives of others.
