تحت شعار "لنتعرف على بعضنا البعض اثناء تناول كوب من الشاي"، نظمت الجمعية الإسلامية للخدمات الاجتماعية (ISSA) مهرجان الشاي متعدد الثقافات السنوي الثامن، حيث تجتمع العائلات لتذوق الشاي والحلويات اللذيذة من العديد من البلدان حول العالم. لإعطاء المجتمعات في وينيبيغ فرصة للتعرف على الثقافات المختلفة. وتكوين شبكة من العلاقات والصداقات الجديدة 

كان زهير المصري في مهرجان الشاي وأجرى مقابلة مع شاهينة صديقي، المؤسس المشارك لجمعية الخدمات الاجتماعية الإسلامية (ISSA)، وذكرت أن هذه هي طريقتنا في إحياء ذكرى التراث الإسلامي في كندا، كما خطط لها البرلمان الكندي في عام 2007. لذلك، على مدى السنوات الثماني الماضية، كنا نفعل ذلك لجميع البلدان بهدف الاحتفال بثقافة الجميع وجمع الناس معًا لتكوين صداقات، وهذا أمر مهم للغاية. مهرجان الشاي هو ظاهرة ثقافية دولية. عندما تجلس العائلة والأصدقاء معًا، فإنهم يتحدثون ويقضون وقتًا رائعًا

  استكشف الحضور مذاقات ونكهات الشاي المختلفة في كل بلد واستمتعوا بالاستماع إلى قصة كل كوب. يعد مهرجان الشاي في وينيبيغ منصة فريدة لبناء الروابط المشتركة وتعميق الحوار والتفاهم بين جميع الثقافات المقيمة في مدينتنا 

وأضافت صديقي أنها عملية استشفاء. ومن المهم أيضًا أن يتمتع الأطفال بحياة طبيعية لأننا جميعًا نشهد صورًا مزعجة للغاية. إنهم يسمعون الأخبار من بلدانهم. لا يستطيع الأطفال معالجتها بنفس الطريقة التي يستطيع بها الكبار. لذلك، نحاول أن نوفر لهم مكانًا للنظر إلى الجانب الإيجابي للأشياء. كما ترون، فإن محنة الأشخاص الحاضرين تقدم لنا الأمل والقوة في معرفة أننا لسنا وحدنا. يجب على الجميع الانضمام إلينا لضمان قضاء وقت ممتع للأطفال. بالنسبة لي، إنه علاجي للغاية

إن مهرجان الشاي المتعدد الثقافات السنوي الثامن ليس مجرد حدث عادي. إنه احتفال بالوحدة والثقافة والمجتمع وفرصة لاستكشاف التنوع الثقافي لأنه يشجع على المشاركة في حوارات هادفة تعزز التفاهم والتكامل بين المجتمعات في مدينة وينيبيغ

Under the slogan "Let's get to know each other over a cup of tea," the Islamic Social Services Association (ISSA) organized the 8th Annual Multicultural Tea Festival, where families come together to taste delicious tea and sweets from many countries around the world. The event aims to allow Winnipeg communities to learn about different cultures while forming a network of new relationships and friendships. 

Journalist Zuhair Almusre attended the Tea Fest to speak with Shahina Siddiqui, co-founder of ISSA. She stated, "This is our way of commemorating Islamic heritage in Canada, as planned by the Canadian Parliament in 2007. So, for the past eight years, we have been doing this for all countries to celebrate everyone's culture and bring people together to form friendship links, especially this year in Middle Eastern communities. This is quite significant. The tea festival is an international cultural phenomenon. When family and friends sit together, they converse and have a conversation, so you're having a wonderful time. People today dress up in cultural clothing for fashion displays for children and diverse cultures." 

Event attendees explored various tastes and flavours of tea from each country and enjoyed listening to the story of each cup. The tea festival is a unique platform for building common bonds and deepening dialogue and understanding between all cultures residing in the city. 

Siddiqui added that it was also a process for healing for those who are seeing tragedy and horrors in the world and don't know quite how to process it. "We're trying to provide them with a place to look at the positive side of things. As you can see, the adversity of the people present offers us hope and strength in knowing that we are not alone. Everyone should join us in ensuring that the children have a nice time. For me, it's very therapeutic." 

 The 8th Annual Multicultural Tea Fest is more than just an ordinary event. It is a celebration of unity, culture, and community and an opportunity to explore cultural diversity because it encourages participation in meaningful dialogues that promote understanding and integration between communities in Winnipeg.
