WeCARE brings Montreal together to support the vulnerable
Samuel Miriello created the Sam Miriello Show (SMS) in early 2021 to fill the need for a gap in coverage towards community initiatives. In Sam’s coverage, he usually focuses on activism, issues facing our community, and organizations aiding different people and communities in the Montreal area. With experience as a student, having organized demonstrations, creating a media outlet and striving to make various changes in the community, Sam has good connections with various people in the greater Montreal area and aims to highlight underreported events and actions in the community.
Montrealers are coming together to make and distribute care packages for the community. Anyone can get involved!
Sam invites an anonymous member of WeCare to the Sam Miriello Show to discuss their organization. They remained anonymous as a result of maintaining privacy and safety and dealing with the public and to also remain these kind acts as a selfless act.
The group puts together kits, collects kits made by community members and distributes these kits to homeless folks in Montreal. The guest also says while kits are distributed to provide food and essential products to homeless folks, it also provides a chance for community members to have a conversation and connect with those without homes and understand their story and get to know them more personally. These kits typically consist of food, snacks, clothes, gift cards, water and other essential items. They say these kids are easy to carry around and hand out when seeing a homeless person on the street.
