RPNA information Session 2024
The Regent Park Neighbourhood Association (RPNA) recently held an information session at the Daniels Spectrum in Regent Park to introduce their mission, share accomplishments, and recruit new members.
Dimitrije Martinovic – Local Journalism Initiative
The RPNA’s mission is to create a safe space where resident voices are amplified on issues that matter to the community and to take meaningful action. This was a central theme of the event, where RPNA members explained their ongoing efforts to advocate for residents, build connections, and ensure local input in the ongoing revitalization of Regent Park.
Key projects highlighted included the Learning Series, which empowers women entrepreneurs, the Café Pop-Up supporting local food businesses in Regent Park, and the Tech Lending Library, addressing digital access for youth and adults in the community. Attendees at the session also learned about RPNA’s governance structure, the board election process, and the importance of becoming corporate members to have a say in shaping the future of Regent Park.
The RPNA plays a vital role in a rapidly evolving neighbourhood by ensuring that residents, especially those from Toronto Community Housing, are part of shaping its future. Through its mission of advocacy, resident leadership, and open communication, the RPNA fosters an inclusive, diverse, and healthy community where all residents feel safe, welcome, and heard.
