وفقا لشرطة مدينة وينيبيغ ارتفع عدد الحوادث المرورية الخطيرة والمميتة بشكل كبير في عام ٢٠٢٢. وهذا الارتفاع شكل ذعراً بين السائقين العرب على سلامتهم وسلامة عائلاتهم. اما بالنسبة للقادمين الجدد الى وينيبيغ فقيادة المركبات تشكل تحدي كبيراً بسبب اختلاف الانظمة المرورية التي اعتادوا عليها في بلدانهم والتي تختلف كثيراً عن الانظمة المرورية في كندا مما يزيد نسب الحوادث والمخالفات بشكل ملحوظ 

سيتي عبدالله تحدثت مع الأستاذ سعد اليوسف مدرب سياقة معتمد في مدينة وينيبيغ وقال: الأنظمة المرورية هي أنظمة ثابتة في أغلب دول العالم. لكن تطبيق هذه الأنظمة في البلدان العربية ليس بالشكل المطلوب من قبل السائقين. وهذا ما يشكل تحدياً كبيراً على القادمين الجدد الى وينيبيغ. فعلى سبيل المثال في كندا يجب أن نتوقف كلياً عند إشارة التوقف، أما في بلداننا العربية نخفف السرعة لكي نتأكد من أن الطريق آمن لمتابعة السير. هنا في وينيبيغ يعتبر عدم الوقف الكامل عند علامة الوقوف خطأ لايسامح به ويرسب الشخص في اختبار القيادة العملي 

اليوسف تابع بقوله: من التحديات الأخرى التي تواجه السائقين القادمين الجدد هي القيادة على الثلوج. في المنطقة العربية الطرق غير زلقة ولا تتطلب تغير العجلات في المواسم أما هنا في كندا الطرق في الشتاء زلقة جداً وقد تتسبب في حوادث خطيرة جداً. لذلك يجب على القادمين الجدد أخذ دروس تعلمهم وتشرح لهم آلية القيادة الآمنة في الشتاء 

اليوسف أضاف بقوله: تنتشر على طرقات وينيبيغ لوحات مرورية تزودك بالمعلومات التي تحتاجها لكي لا تتعرض للخطر او للمخالفات. فمثلاً يجب أن تنتبه لمنطقة المدارس ، عبور القطارات، حدود السرعة في المناطق السكنية، والكثير من الإرشادات الأخرى التي يجب على القادمين الجدد فهمها جيداً. هذه الإرشادات مكتوبة باللغة الإنجليزية واغلب القادمين الجدد لا يتقنون هذه اللغة. لذلك تشكل تحدياً بالنسبة لهم 

خلال هذه الحلقة قدم اليوسف الكثير من المعلومات والنصائح للقادمين الجدد لتفادي المخالفات والحوادث المرورية، وطالبهم بتجنب السرعة الزائدة وإحترام القوانين المرورية لكي يحافظوا على حياتهم وحياة الاخرين

According to the City of Winnipeg Police the number of serious and fatal traffic accidents  
increased dramatically in 2022. This rise caused panic among Arab drivers for their safety and  
the safety of their families.  

 
As for newcomers to Winnipeg, driving is a great challenge due to the different traffic systems  
used in their home countries. Many newcomers come from countries with different traffic rules  
and regulations. This significantly increases the rates of accidents and violations. Adjusting to  
new speed limits, road signs, and right-of-way rules can be confusing. 
 
Winnipeg experiences diverse and often harsh weather conditions, including snow and ice in  
many regions. Driving in these conditions requires special skills, such as handling a car on  
slippery roads, which newcomers may be unfamiliar with. Many newcomers settle in urban  
areas where traffic is more congested and road systems are complex. This can be  
overwhelming for individuals used to driving in more rural or less densely populated areas. As  
driving culture and etiquette can differ between countries, understanding the norms and  
expectations on Canadian roads can take time to grasp for newcomers.  

 
To help address these challenges, it's essential for newcomers to familiarize themselves with  
the local driving rules, take driver education courses if needed, practice driving in different  
conditions, and be patient as they adapt to the Canadian driving environment. 

 
Siti Abdulle spoke with Saad Al-Yousif, Driving Instructor in Winnipeg, who stated that traffic  
regulations are fixed systems in most countries around the world. However, the application of  
these regulations in Arab countries is not as required by drivers compared to Canada. This  
poses a great challenge for newcomers to Winnipeg. Those challenges, barriers and solutions  
discussed in the episodes.
