The High Rate of Global Inflation is Causing Financial Concern for the Arab Community in Winnipeg

بحسب اخر الاحصاءات لحكومة مانيتوبا تحتل المقاطعة المرتبة الخامسة بين باقي المقاطعات الكندية من حيث النمو الاقتصادي وذلك بناء على الانتعاش الذي حققته في عام ٢٠٢١  ليصل الى نسبة ٢.٨ في عام ٢٠٢٣ ورغم هذا الانتعاش لم يشعر به سكان وينيبيغ بسبب ارتفاع نسبة التضخم العالمية وخصوصا في كندا منذ عقود مضت. المجتمعات المحلية في وينيبيغ تحديداً لديهم بعض التخوفات من المستقبل الاقتصادي للمقاطعة   كالبطالة - الفقر وعدم المساواة في الدخل - وعدم القدرة على تكاليف السكن 

عبد السلام كليولة تحدث مع الأستاذ محمد عبد الودود شلبي المحلل المالي والاقتصادى الذي حل ضيفاً على المنصة المدنية وقال: من وجهة نظري التضخم سيستمر لسنوات قادمة نظراً للتغيرات الجيوسياسية في العالم. فمهما شهد الاقتصاد في وينيبيغ من انتعاش لن يشعر به المستهلك بسبب ارتفاع نسبة التضخم وهذا يعتبر تحدي كبير في الوقت الحالي للمواطنين في وينيبيغ 

شلبي وضح أيضاً بأن جائحة كورونا كانت واحدة من أسباب ارتفاع نسبة التضخم بسبب قلة العرض وزيادة الطلب. ايضا تسببت الجائحة في ارتفاع نسبة البطالة وفقدان الكثير من الناس لوظائفهم. وهذا شكل ضغطاً متزايداً على الحكومات التي لم تعد قادرة على اعادة القوى العاملة إلى سوق العمل. مما تسبب في الهجرة السلبية وهي مغادرة الكثير من العائلات من مدينة وينيبيغ الى مدن أخرى لإيجاد فرص عمل جديدة 

شلبي أضاف قائلاً: التضخم أثر بشكل كبير على القادمين الجدد الذين ليس لديهم معرفة كافية عن الحياة في كندا. ويلجئون الى غير المتخصصين في معرفة كيفية التكيف مع الظروف الصعبة التي تواجههم، وهذا يعتبر خطأ يجب أن تتحمله الحكومة التي تجب ان توفر لهم منظمات متخصصة تشرح لهم كيفية التأقلم والاندماج في كندا. ايضا يجب ان توفر لهم منظمات تساعدهم في ايجاد فرص عمل مناسبة لخبراتهم وتدربهم على الخبرة الكندية التي يطلبها اصحاب العمل لكي يتمكنوا من إعالة أنفسهم وأسرهم

شلبي تحدث عن العديد من المواضيع الأخرى وقدم الكثير من النصائح والارشادات التي تجعل حياة الفرد أفضل حتى يستطيع مواجهة التحديات الاقتصادية بشكل أفضل

According to the latest statistics Manitoba ranks fifth among Canadian provinces in terms of  economic growth. This statistic reveals that the post-pandemic recovery achieved from 2021 to 2023, reached 2.8  percent growth. Despite this recovery, the residents of Winnipeggers feel the negative impact of high rates of inflation.  

 
Ethnocultural communities in Winnipeg have concerns about the economic future of the country as well as a number of other issues such as unemployment, poverty, income inequality, and the inability to afford housing costs.  

 
No matter how much the economy in Winnipeg has recovered, the average consumer does not feel it due to the high rate of inflation, a significant challenge right now for many living in Winnipeg. 

 
Abdeslam Glioula spoke with Mohamed Shalabi, a financial and economic consultant, who stated that given the geopolitical changes in the world, inflation will continue growing. Shalaby went on to say that COVID-19 pandemic was one of the causes of the high rates of  inflation as it caused a scarcity of supply and a rise in demand. The pandemic also increased  unemployment, with many people losing their jobs.  

 
Chalabi noted that inflation has had a significant impact on newcomers who are unfamiliar with Canadian living. Many have turned to unqualified people for advice on how to adapt to the difficult circumstances they face. 

During this episode, Shalaby addresses various additional  issues and concerns, including the role of the Canadian government in dealing with global inflation, and gives a lot of advice and guidance to help enable people to properly face economic challenges to make their life better.
