Daniel D. Vázquez, our Future Montreal mayor?

Host Sam Miriello invites Daniel D. Vázquez to discuss his goal of becoming mayor of Montreal. Vázquez is running unopposed for the municipal party "Vrai changement pour Montréal". Vrai changement pour Montréal was founded in 2013 by Mélanie Joly in opposition of the 2013 Montreal municipal elections. The party is currently led by Justine McIntyre, but if Vázquez wins, he will be the next leader. Vázquez is an alumnus of Concordia University in Public Affair and Policy-making and Georgraphy. He also volunteered for Quebec Solidaire from 2013-2015.

Host Sam Miriello asks Vázquez of his political past, having formerly ran under the Green Party of Quebec as a candidate for Brossard in the 2018 provincial elections. They also discuss issues in Montreal including homelessness, social housing, defund the police, social inequalities, animal rights and other important issues facing Montrealers. Vázquez also discusses political history in his family, as his grandfather was a politician in Mexico. Vázquez also discusses his plans for the election and desires for his platform and what he will do if he becomes mayor of Montreal.

With rumours that both Valerie Plante and Denis Coderre will run in the next election, Vázquez discusses his opinions on both politicians and feelings running against the current and former mayor. Sam Miriello also questions how Vázquez will remain progressive throughout his election and how to follow through with being progressive if he wins.
